"4Trouts Foxy Silk" are the best wing and tail material for streamers and salt water patterns. Can use on parachute fly as high-floating wing post. Foxy Silk is one of the best soft synthetic fibers available for tying imitations of baitfish, shrimp, crabs, crayfish etc. If it swims you can probably imitate it with the right mix of Foxy Silk and a tinsel. Takes waterproof permanent marker well so you can add all the barring you want, and does not absorb water.

Use less material than you think you need and, if tying hi-ties, to tie the material in in the middle with half facing forward and then fold the forward facing portion back and tie it down. Once you have a large "hairball" used curved scissors to shape it and taperizers, if needed, to taper out the back of the body.
